RAINSTORM HALTS PROCTOR RACES AT INTERMISSION
By Jerry O'Brien
Just as the final B main for the Pure Stocks finished a heavy
rainstorm swept across the Proctor Speedway making it impossible
for the program to continue in a timely manner. The rest of the
event was cancelled. Officials decided that running all five
makeup features on July 24 would be too difficult time wise and
will run some of them on the 24th and the rest on August 7th as
the Twin Ports Twin 25's will be the featured event on
Sunday July 31. This event is also the second race of the 2005
AMSOIL Late Model series.
All heat races were completed as well as the B mains. In the
WISSOTA Late Model division the first heat went to Kevin Carlson
over Tom Nesbitt while Darrell Nelson led a parade of number
44's across the line in heat two. Darrell nelson won the heat
over brother Nick while Nick Musel drove a third Billy Nelson
Racing number 44M to a third place finish.
Only 11 WISSOTA Modifieds turned out for competition Sunday
night and Darrell Nelson again took a heat win over Jason
Miller.
In the Midwest Modified class Nick Lavato won heat number one
over Willy Thompson while Josh Loucks won the second over Riley
Mathews. It was Justin Jones over Dean Hoffman in the third and
final heat. Mark Kangas defeated Barry Smith in the B Main.
Scott Lawrence won the first WISSOTA Super Stock heat besting
Jeff Tardy. Ryan Aho took the second heat over fellow Iron
Ranger Kyle Peterlin in the second heat while Dave Flynn took
the final heat over Mike Bellefeuille.
Pure Stock heats went to Jim McClellan, Scott Larsen and
Jason Rockwell while Tom Morinville and Dan Hendrickson won B
Mains.
