PETERLIN WINS SECOND CONSECUTIVE LM FEATURE AT PROCTOR
Skeeter Estey Gets First Career Midwest Modified Main Event

Sunday night's action at the Proctor speedway saw a first time winner to go along with the  usual suspects. Skeeter Estey won a hard fought WISSOTA Midwest Modified feature for his first feature win. Kyle Peterlin is on a roll as the rookie Late Model driver won his second consecutive feature at the Proctor Speedway and fourth in two weeks. Darrell Nelson outran Kelly Estey for his second consecutive WISSOTA Modified feature win his third of the season. Ryan Aho won the WISSOTA Super Stock feature his second of the season and Glen Dammer won his fourth Pure Stock feature of the season. 107 cars were on hand for the weekly racing program.

After qualifying heats were finished along with B Features in three divisions, the first main event rolled onto the speedway about 7:30. Up first was the 20 lap Midwest Modified main event with Brad Anderson and Cory Jorgenson sharing the front row. Jorgenson grabbed the early lead as there was two very racy grooves on the track. Skeeter Estey quickly made his way to second from row three with Jeremy Hall, Clint Larson and Nick Lavato in the mix. With three laps in Adam Archer found the wall off turn four with the car sustaining significant front end damage. At the green Estey dived to the inside and took the lead off turn two. Charging to the front from the B Feature was Greg Chesley into sixth. Estey pulled out a good lead while lavato made his way to second ahead of Jorgenson, Larson and Hall. Lavato closed on Estey and it was a two car race for the win.

The second and final caution flag flew when Jesse Ogston stalled off the back stretch. On the restart Estey held off Lavato on the back stretch and went on to take the win. Lavato finished second while there was a scramble for third won by Jorgenson with Chesley fourth and Jimmy Latvala got a good shot on the final lap to finish fifth.

The 20 lap Late Model feature was next on the program and Jeff Massingill driving for John Carpenter got the hole shot from the pole at the green. Jeff Provinzino, Harry Hanson, Tim McMann and Todd Gehl trailed in the early going. Provinzino dived to the inside of Massingill in turn three and the two bumped. Massingill took a hard right into Hanson and both shot off the track followed by Jeff Lien trying to avoid the incident. Provinzino was charged with the foul and sent to the back. Massingill was out and it was Hanson who inherited the lead on the restart. McMann and Broking battled for second but it was Peterlin who came alive and got by McMann and Broking into second. Also on the move was Danny Young up from the sixth row to third. At the ten lap mark Peterlin led Broking, Young, Darrell Nelson and Hanson. The race went under the green flag the rest of the way as Peterlin won his fourth career Late Model feature. Young got by Broking for second, Nelson was fourth and Provinzino rebounded for a fifth place finish.

Art Hyde was looking to redeem himself for the occurrence the previous week when he and Steve Estey crashed on the last lap of the 20 lap Super Stock feature. Hyde took the high route at the green flag and was able to pull out a slight lead over Adam Long, Eric Nelson, Tyler Kintner and Ryan Aho. Hyde bobbled slightly in turn one and Aho dived low on the track and came out of the second turn in the lead. Long, Nelson and Hyde followed with Jeff Tardy up from the fifth row into fifth spot. The caution flag appeared when Jay Kuras and Robbie Cooper tangled in the first turn. Aho grabbed the point at the green with Nelson not far behind.

A lap later Dave Reynolds spun off turn one bringing out what would prove to be the final yellow flag. At the green flag Aho and Nelson drove away from the squabble for third which soon resolved itself when Jay Kintner popped from the pack to take the position. Aho was cruising away from the pack with Nelson several car lengths back. Aho won his second feature of the season at the speedway over Nelson. Jay Kintner and Jeff Tardy finished third and fourth and Jay Kuras came back from the crash to finish fifth.

Duane Dale took the early lead in the WISSOTA Modified 20 lap feature on the second circuit as Justin Jones, Don Copp and Kelly Estey ran in the top five. The only caution flag of the event flew early when Marc Johnson's car spun at the entrance of turn one and was removed from the track with mechanical problems. No laps were counted when, on the restart, Justin Jones bunted Darrell Nelson spinning him out. Jones went to the back and Nelson, who had started fourth hugged the bottom line and shot up off turn two past Dale who was riding the rim, into the lead which he would never give up. Nelson cruised to his second consecutive win and third of the season. Estey got by Dale for second and Paul Schultz and Don Copp rounded out the first five finishers.

The final feature of the evening was for the Pure Stocks with Ashley Smith leading from the pole. Smith won the first lap but she had company in the form of Al Rapp, Matt Hammitt, Dan Larsen and Glen Dammer. Rick Kesty moved up into the battle along with Andy LaBarge and the pack boiled around the track with the lead going back and fourth. At the half way point Kestey led Labarge, Rapp, Dammer, Pat Van Ert, Larsen, Jon McKinnon and Smith. The first of two caution flags appeared when Jacob Morinville spun off turn four.

At the green flag Dammer blasted into the lead and Van Ert moved up to fifth. With five laps to go Smith's night came to an end when she stopped on the back stretch with a flat tire. The restart saw Dammer retain the lead while it was three wide for second and a total of five cars going for that position. Dammer went on to take his fourth feature win over Rapp, LaBarge, McKinnon and Van Ert in the top five.
