Bellefeuille was equal to the
task as he used the high groove to hold off Jeff
Wood who made a pass on Nelson for second but Jim
Inman went off turn one and apparently rolled his
#27. He was uninjured in the incident and actually
drove the car back to the pits. At the green
Bellefeuille again raced off to the lead while
Nelson and Estey got by Wood and battled again fro
second which Nelson took over. Bellefeuille's huge
lead again disappeared when Nick Nelson brought out
the final caution again bringing Darrell Nelson to
his back bumper with seven circuits to go. For the
last few laps the battle for the lead was intense
but Bellefeuille's car was stronger than Nelson's
where it counted, off turn four. Nelson could run
even and perhaps a little bit ahead off turn two and
down the backstretch but Bellefeuille was fastest
off the fourth turn which gave him the popular win.
Darrell Nelson, Estey; Justin Jones from the fifth
row and Wood finished in the top five.
A week previous Harry Hanson
and Late Model Rookie Kyle Peterlin staged a great
battle in the 25 lap feature with the veteran Hanson
taking the win by inches. This time the battle for
the lead was between the same two drivers but this
time Hanson got by Peterlin early and won by several
car lengths. Veteran racer Tim McMann got the jump
at the outset from the front row and led the first
couple of circuits until Peterlin was able to slip
by bringing Hanson along with him. Each time
Peterlin was able to put several car lengths on the
pursuing Hanson a caution flag would put Hanson back
in it. With 15 laps to go Hanson got by into the
lead and pulled a way to a decisive victory.
Peterlin, Jeff Provinzino, Todd Gehl and Danny Young
rounded out the top five.
Ryan Aho won his fifth
AMSOIL WISSOTA Dirt Racing Series feature Sunday
night at the Proctor Speedway. The start of the 20
lap feature was delayed twice by wrecks but the
third time was the charm as Super Stock rookie
driver Kevin Eder shot through from row two to lead
to the ten lap mark despite two caution flags and a
real scramble up front for the lead. Aho was moving
up into the battle from the fourth row as the
competition fell away with a variety of problems.
The final caution flag of the event was for the
leader as Eder spun himself out of the lead giving
it over to the second running Aho. Aho held off
first time visitor Jimmy Gullikson, Eric Nelson, Jay
Kintner and outside front row starter Tom Treviranus
in the front five.
The AMSOIL WISSOTA Dirt
Racing Series Midwest Modifed 20 lap event got off
to a rough start as it took a couple of shots to get
a green flag lap in, Cory Jorgenson was looking for
his second feature win of the season and led from
the outside of the front row early on but fell by
the wayside late in the race. Skeeter Estey started
from the outside of row three and soon worked his
way to the lead after yet another caution flag with
five circuits complete. Estey moved out to a five
car length lead leaving Nick Lavato, Jorgenson and
Barry Smith to battle for second. Estey was in
control and began to lap cars but Jorgenson pulled
off the back stretch and out of the race as Estey's
lead was gone. The time limit clock was ticking as
the race resumed and Estey led the rest of the way
for his second win of the season. Lavato, Smith,
pole sitter Taylor Leuthner and ClintL larson
finished in the top five.
Glen Dammer got the jump
from the outside of the second row looking for his
third Curtis Tire & Oil Pure Stock feature of the
season. Two caution flags marred the 15 lap event,
one for a tangle between Richard Dzelak and Isaac
Hudson and one right after for at angle between Alli
Kresal and Scott Larsen. LaRae Ralidak the first
female to win a feature at the speedway made another
gutsy move to get into the second spot as from there
on back a cluster of cars appeared to be an accident
going somewhere to happen as there was much bumping
in the tight nine car pack. There was even a four
wide run through the third and fourth turn with
everyone making it through. When the smoke cleared
Dammer had his third win and Ralidak was second.
Rounding out the top five were Tony Ciurleo, Al Rapp
and Jon McKinnon.
